The part that will be covered by the wall can be cut out. Then carpet tack needs to be placed next to the wall and then tightened to it. HTH
I agree. Don't let them just put it over the carpet. Make them pull the carpet back and then cut the carpet out from the closet. I also agree with gunney. Get another estimate from someone else too. That is always good. I have done, rather my husband and I, have done all the work to our home, except for the carpet-I paid for the install when I paid for the carpet-it was worth it. You will have people do it the easy way when it's not always the right way.
