The lack of rain this spring is seriously affecting the wildflowers. But on a visit last week to the Rockport area last week, I photographed a few beauties I thought I'd share. We were hoping to see whooping cranes, but apparently missed them by a few days. I keep thinking there is a quilt in some of these photos.

Bluebonnets and Mexican Firewheels shared space at the edge of the bay. They even grew beneath a palm tree.

These butterflies were plentiful.

A prickly poppy looks rather delicate, but grow profusely.

I love the way the flowers crowd near a bunch of cacti.
