A QB member's DSIL sent me her sampler quilt.
I love all of her fabric choices...I think I read that she is a fairly new quilter and to take on a project like this as a new quilter is really outstanding!
I can't stop starting at this quilt.....The pictures don't even really do it justice....It is a HUGE quilt and I had fun quilting it...so on to the details:
The owner writes that it was quite a challenge because all the blocks came from different shops with different instructions and not always clear. ( I am assuming it is a shop hop quilt). HE color/fabric choices are STUNNING! I love them.
So I thought FEATHERS, FEATHERS and more FEATHERS. I actually don't ever get sick of feathers...some of you may have noticed..but they can be elegant or whimsy....in this case very elegant. I also just looked at each block individually and quilted them differently.....I love the diamonds in the borders...I wanted those to stand out and so I just did the half circle bumps....I love the look of them on the back as well....There are many different techniques through out the whole quilt.
I quilted this on my INNOVA. NO pantograph or computer quilting.
I also used hobbs polydown batting.
Thanks for looking!
