I attach my binding on the back and turn it to the front. I use a small zig zag to sew it down. The zig zag shows up less than the straight stitch. I put the zig on the binding and the zag in the quilt.
When I sew my binding on, I have a small thickness of painter's tape to guide it against so my binding is very straight and even.
I am going to hand do one quilt, 103" square. But that will be the first one in 10 years.
