This is the quilt I've been free motion quilting for the past two weeks. It's also my first time spray basting a quilt this large (55 x 55). The spray basting worked out great. There isn't a single pucker on the back, and despite my pushing, pulling, yanking, rolling abuse it took, it held together with no problems at all. It was much superior to pin basting.

I borrowed the designs in the borders from Leah Day's Free Motion Quilting Project. I could not possibly have done this without her terrific tutorials. It was very empowering to do this. I can't say I'm anxious to start on the next one, but I'm happy that I've finished this one. It took much longer and it took a lot more thread than I expected. I learned a lot in the process.
