Just last week I was in a high end grocery store and saw a family there. Mom, Dad and 3 kids from about 5 to 9 or so. They were all chomping down on pastries in front of the big glass self service pastery case. Mom had a big container of soda, as did all the kids, Dad had a big cup of coffee. They all had seconds (or possibly thirds, since they were there when I arrived) and when finished they all tucked their cups and paper napkins into Mom's big cup and tossed it in the garbage. Then put a few cans of something in the cart and went to pay for that.
I told a clerk who sighed, said the cameras had already got them and they would be stopped and "talked to".

That thieving does make prices higher for me and for everyone else. I'd guess they stole 20 dollars or so for their "Coffee Break". And what these kids will grow up to be makes me scared for the future.
