Here is another poem for a quilt. I envisioned an Attic windows with a fabric that has lots of African animals on it. I have yet to find the right fabric. Across between kiddy cute and realistic...might find it some day.

Papa went to Africa
to see what he could see
he saw some hippo's in a pool
and monkeys in a tree.
He saw cheetahs running fast
through forests dim and cool.
He found a moonless night so
full of deep and velvet dark
it's spangled diamond lights.
that shone with fire's spark

Come home now Mama said
she called to Papa from the hall.
Time for babes to be abed,
so sleep can come for all.
So Papa closed our story book.
He kissed our rosy lips
then we set out on starry seas
to sail our dream laden ships
Our port of call to Africa
beyond our own dear isle
until the morn should come
and wake us with a smile.
