Years ago our dog trapped one under our house. You know that cartoon with pepi la pew & his sent shows waves in the air. That truly happens. The oil from it filtered in the house & we could actually see it in the air. It really burns the eyes too. Only one room in our house didn't reek for months. It was on & in everything. Took months before it faded away. We were known as the LOL skunk people. Everyone could smell it when they drove by our house. After that we put lots of moth balls under & around the house till we got it all sealed up. Never had a problem after that. I still put out moth balls in the spring around our property line & has kept them away. We live in a small farming community where everyone knows everyone.
