We're just 2 seniors so many coupons are for things we don't use or can't eat, but I work hard to save where ever I can.
We rarely have double coupons and when we do they are limited to $1, not double the amount on the coupon. I'm lucky that I have several large supermarkets nearby and use their weekly flyers to make my list of what's on sale, which ever one I go to I'm getting the best prices, plus I use some coupons. We're limited to the number of sale items we can get, usually 2 or 4 but every little bit helps. This week I'll be picking up a free turkey breast or small turkey (a free spiral ham is also available) - a bonus for spending a certain amount of dollars at the supermaket the past 5 or 6 weeks. During those weeks I stock up on staples that are sale priced while adding bonus points for the freebee. When the kids were still home I bought more food and would be eligible for a free turkey or ham at both supermakets and often donated the extra turkey or ham to local food pantry.

I use the envelopes of our junk mail for my grocery lists, slip my coupons inside and also make note of what's on sale at Home Depot, K Mart, etc. On each list I keep reminders of what I'm low on so when ever I come across one of them at a very good price and grab some. Have had bread crumbs on my list the past several weeks but haven't found a good price of a brand that I like but I'll keep looking. May in Jersey
