LOL I was just thinking that I really have soooo much fabric, will I ever use it in my lifetime? Will I make something with it before the popular NOW colors become the popular THEN colors? (in 20 years they will be popular again. right?) So after thinking all of this, I got my fabric from online, it will take a whole day to wash, iron, and fold it. My reasoning? the price of cotton is going up, stock your stash while you can get a decent price. Now I will just have to make even MORE quilts :) I dont buy kits, I buy fabric to make quilts, plus a little/lot extra for errors. then forget what pattern I was thinking when I purchased THAT fabric. I know I'm no help in your situation, just wanted you to know that you are not alone. There is a whole boat load of us out there, I envy the quilter(s) who buys just what they need.
