I was counting the days when I could sign up for Medicare (turning 65 in August) when lo and behold my Medicare card arrived in the mail. Seems that if you are already collecting Social Security, which I have been since age 62, they send you the card and then it's up to you to tell them if you don't want it.

Now waiting to see my insurance agent to sign up for my supplemental policy. I don't think I need Part D, because all my drugs are generic, but I don't think my husband will let me get away with that.

As I have been paying $510 a month for coverage this year, it will be a relief to get by with Medicare and Supplement premiums.
