I watched Sewing with Nancy last saturday on PBS, her guest made nyb blocks by appliquing the inner circle and the outer piece to the paper pieced arc. It kind of sounds like a bit of a cheat, but they looked beautiful. The method is called Appli-curves, if you go to the sewing with nancy website you'll see that she offers a book and cd on this method.

I want to so bad do a New York Beauty block, only I'm terrified of putting it together with the 3 sections (curves are my problem) Is there a right way to go about this block to make it easy so it lays flat and is not cumbersome to sew.
