Try this recip[ie
Amish White Bread
1 pkg dry yeast
1/2 c warm water
1/3 cup sugar
2 tsp salt
2 c warm water
2 1/2 Tblsp melted shortning or veg oil, Dissolve yeast in 12 c warm water
In large bowl combine sugar salt 2 cups warm water and shortning. Stir in yeast mixture. Gradually add flour to form a soft dough. (I use the mixer until I can't anymore) Mix together (with hands)
Place in greased bowl to rise 2 hours, Punch down, form into two loaves. Place in bread pan, let rise two hours. Bake at 350 or 25 to 35 min.
