Oh!...got a nice Quilt Show story to share...I almost forgot...

Two years ago when Mariya Waters won, she hadn't planned on attending. She's Australian and decided not to make the long trip. Well, when they called and told her that she'd won the Grand Prize, she proceeded to make the 11th hour trip to Paducah. She traveled for over 48 hours, and had been bumped from flights and stood stand-by at just about every connection in every airport. When she finally got to Memphis it was the day before the show. She got on the last flight to Paducah (full of quilters, who didn't have a clue who she was) as a stand-by, and started to take her seat when they announced that the plane was overweight and the stand-by passengers would have to get off. She was exhausted and frazzled and told the flight attendant that she just HAD to get to Paducah, because her quilt won the Grand Prize.....EVERY QUILTER ON THE PLANE STOOD UP and offered to give her their seat! There wasn't a dry eye on the plane. (a pilot who was dead-heading, gave up his seat so everyone could stay on the plane together)

Isn't that a great story!!
