I started my GFG to keep my DH from killing me when we traveled. I would see non-existant things out of the corner of my eyes, suck in my breath and scare him to death. So to keep me occupied I started piecing the GFG. I loved it and had about 1/3 of a queen size pieced and sewed together and the van was broken into in Mexico and the 2 most valuable things they stole were the porta potti (and we are still trying to figure that out) and my quilt, along with a rotary cutter and my plastic template from Marti Michell. When I got home I called her shop, explained what happened and they replaced the template, but I kinda lost heart after so much was taken. Not only did I have a lot of it put together I had about 50 flowers with 2 rows on them. I had a few still at home and I'm back to doing them, but I've also picked up punchneedle for trips and TV time. I did a fair amount of fooling around hand quilting to see if I liked it but it was all smaller pieces. It is very relaxing and I love the look.
