That's what I do too, but I've also used used dryer sheets and notebook or computer paper for tearaway. If you need a stronger stabilizer, just add more sheets. I always use water soluable stabilizer on the top of my project too, to keep the stitches from sinking too far into the fabric.

The sticky and water soluable are expensive, I get it at Joanns when they have it 50% off and I waste as little as possible.
