You are in good company in Upstate NY, as we call it. There are many of us here with such limited access to fabric. There are some thrift stores in Watertown with good cotton linens and clothing that deconstruct into good quilting fabrics at very reasonable prices, especially if you watch the sale tag days.
100% cotton sheets, curtains, pillowcases, etc give you good yardage for cheap on half price days. And don't miss the bed skirts. They give you lots of yardage, especially good for OBWs and S&W.
