I have a Singer 201 and 66, I don't have much luck free motion quilting with either, the 15-90 is wonderful for that. I have done straight line quilting with the 201 and it did a great job.

I found that to be the same for me too. My Singer 15-90 works so much nicer for free motion quilting. When I had my 66-1 in treadle, I tried it for free motion but that didn't work out too well. So, I just used it for straight line quilting. Made a cute baby quilt with that machine for my niece. Now that I have the 201 in treadle, that is the machine I use for straight line quilting and piecing.
