I have some advice. I love to sew and have been trying to learn how to quilt. I sew and quilt for charity and gifts for family and friends.. I do it because I love it and it helps others.

Things I have learned.....

Enjoy what you do.
Finished is better than perfect.
BUY the best equipment that you can afford...and upgrade when you can.
Dont be afraid to ask questions.
This board is absolutely wonderful. The quilters here are so friendly and willing to help.
Watch for sales and coupons.
Mistakes are opportunites to be more creative.
Join a sewing guild or quilt group.
I belong to American Sewing Guild. They have so many learning opportunities, ways to help others, and bonus...you get a card good for 10 percent off Joann's (not coupon items but it is good on sale prices) and many of the quilt shops honor it for the same.

Hope that helps Happy quilting and may all your bobbins be full.
