I was at a quilt show, and one of the quilts hanging was done by a 90 yr. old. Machine pieced ( all the points were beautiful), and it was hand quilted by her. Her quilt was told that even though it looked good her colors didn't really go with the pattern. This quilter has been in magazines, and had won many other awards. Found out later, that this judge didn't like earth tones in a quilt, and if those were your colors she found something wrong with it no matter what. Now I would call that judge the Quilting Police. That isn't helpful to anybody.
