My idea:
I would take off that blue border and add your 4" there. I'd like to see a different fabric in there - darker with the blues and pinks. Use 4" cornerstones. Pink? Then cut up that blue. I'm including a quilt I made and I was in a mess. I only had 1 yd of focus fabric and I came up with this border - a fussy cut cornerstone - with that fabric running as a strip bordered by two equal strips. I had to use more fussy cut squares because my strips weren't long enough. Just make the center smaller (and use the new fabric) then the two borders on each side. I think all that plain blue is boring and adds nothing to the quilt. I'd love to be given that job. I must have a twisted mind - I love challenges.

quote=117becca]One of the ladies that I quilt w/ wants this quilt finished - but I have to fix it first - then I'll finish it up. As you can see - the borders are too puckery, so i need to take them off and fix it. This is why you measure and probably need to pin :roll: The finished quilt will need to fit a king size bed.

I will need to add 4 inches all the way around to get it to the king size quilt

I'm looking for ideas of how I can mix this up. I do have more of the fabrics, so that is not an issue.

Currently, the width of the strips as they are shown:
~ pink border => 4 inches
~ rectangular border => 4 inches
~ blue border w/ corner squares => 12 inches

Total border will need to be 24 inches wide. Not touching the center portion w/ the squares on point.

Don't necessarily need to work w/ what is already there - she has given me free reign!! :thumbup: :thumbup:

Thank for all your creativity!![/quote]
