I suspect the quilter of this wholecloth marked out the quilt with a repetitive feather motif she most likely designed herself. So in essence, it was done free hand but was carefully measured and marked out prior to quilting. I would not be surprised if this quilter was a student of Karen McTavish as I see a lot of Karen's influence in this quilt. Several of the wholecloths at this show had their beginnings in Karen's wholecloth marking workshop, in fact one of the winners started as that.
