Is the flaking a sign that it should be replaced? Thanks in advance for any info you can give me!
I have a 1948 Featherweight that was also doing this. There is a Featherweight Yahoo group that I joined to learn everything about mine. You can also search differant topics to read what had been previously asked and posted. Hope this helps.

What did you do with your machine Judy? Did you have it rewired? Thanks for the lead re: the yahoo groups!
