Nancy, Here is a photo of the plastic part in the all metal machine. From what I have read in researching, this is the only place in the machine where the plastic part is used. I haven't taken the rest of the machine apart to see what is under the hood. Maybe someone else here knows.
Thanks Monica, that is interesting. I'll have to look at my Rocketeer from 1961 to see if it looks the same.
