I would like to make a quilted case for it, what does everyone think?
I think you should make your own quilted fabric. Just put two sturdy fabrics together with batting between and draw lines criss-crossing across in an "X" pattern. Quilt enough to cut out the bag and go for it. Prequilted fabric is expensive and never as pretty as the regular fabric you probably already have in your stash.
