Judy and Rhonda, You both are so special, can't believe I have two trying to help me! I do have Paint on the computer; I am such a computer dummy that I just know enough to get myself into trouble but the rest I have no idea how anything is done.
I went on the internet and did a search for Windows Paint and found tutorial that told me where to find it. In the tutorial it gave some tips on using the Tools, one was Saving a Picture! Just what I needed!!! I found out I can start up the scanner and scan the fabric right into Paint. After scanning, the tutorial said on File menu, click Save. Then Save as type box slect format you, add file name and save.
Now my problem is which bmp do I choose? This is list that was given: Monochrome bmp, 16 Color bmp, 256 Color bmp, 24-bit bmp, along with other formats like gif,jpg and some others. When I scanning and using the free program, it changed the jpg picture to a 24-bit bmp format and it was just a small option of the whole scanned picture.
The fabric I'm trying to add to the library is a print of a rooster. I would like to try using the Custom Set option to plan a quilt. Sure appreciate any help, you'll never know how much! Chris
