Ours here in Placerville sure has gotten new and better fabrics. They still aren't quite the quality of LQS - not quite as nice a hand, but when I'm paying $2.97 to 4.97 a yard, I don't feel so guilty about wasting fabric when I'm learning. I bought $25.00 worth of fabric in bright florals and stripes (all in a fabric family) brought them home, washed them in hot water and dried them in a hot dryer...trying to make sure that it could hold up. Not any more shrinkage than I'm getting from LQS fabs. I've been using them to practice blocks and teaching my nephew's wife to quilt. Still have lots of fabric to play with.
