may i ask whether you think this thru with the quilt on a wall, or when it's on the frame..i do have a small throat machine on my frame... but am quite comfortable with it.... i'm getting up the courage to try some of your technique... i think i can do it.... i know it will take a ton of practice.. but am looking forward to it.... thank you for giving me "permission" to put feathers where you do... :)

As far as planning..I actually don't have a design wall. I had a small one in my last room....to hang a few blocks..Most of the time I pull the quilts out look at them ...kind of study them for a bit and go from there...sometimes when I am pinning on I still don't know what i am going to quilt..LOL. It just comes to me. Was that clear as mud?
