It depends on what you want. prices vary alot in different locations. I look for them on Craig's List, Ebay (local pick up), garage sales and local thrift shops.

For machines that take some work to clean up, and cabinets that need some work I am willing to pay $20-40 for a run of the mill Singer...there were thousands of them made, they are not rare.

If you want something that has the decals left in good condition and a cabinet that doesn't need to be refinished, you will most likely pay more than $100.

The great thing is the old machines are very simple to work on and almost indistructible. So even if it looks bad, you more then likely can get it working again with a bit of elbow grease.
