I'm hoping someone can help me. I have an old Kenmore machine that is and '40'machine. The tension part in on the face plate and I can't for the life of me figure out how to thread it. Of course, there are no books/instructions with it. It is the only machine I own made that way. This was given to me, or I probably wouldn't have it. I'll get a pic, if I can, on here soon.
