treadlep, your Richmond machine is another National - yours has a Vindex top V tension, whatever that means. It looks a lot like my 1928 Leader, though yours could be a few years older. It is a very pretty machine with a lovely cabinet. It will take a slightly longer needle than what is currently available.
I wonder why some manufacturer isn't retooling a machine a making those needles as so many machines are in use that need them.
Thanks---I'll look for a picture of your machine. So far I've only made it to page 400 of this board! Taking it a little bit at a time. I have been able to locate a few Eldredge needles at our local sewing machine shops, so I've been lucky.
