Maybe a memory quilt for him would be comforting...just an idea!
I am finishing a quilt for he and his wife that his mom had done. She wanted to make a quilt as close to the one on the cover of Eleanor Burns' Log Cabin book as she could. She finished it and I had it quilted. I need to bind it for them. I also have finished one for her grandson's wedding and have one to finish for a granddaughter and first great granddaughter who was born a little more than a week before she died. I think she stayed as long as she did to get to meet Hailey. Hailey was born in the last week of July and Lynda met her on a Sunday and went home to see Jesus on Thursday. I also have all of her quilting T shirts and have considered a memory quilt from them for her daughter and granddaughter.
