I'm a "newie" too, and followed instructions on my 3rd quilt. Highly recommend that, as my first 2 were creations of my own. Not real happy with them. I feel with a few more quilts following the guidelines & instruction my skill level will improve. It is fun to shop for the fabrics & colors.
