We've had dogs for 14 years and always used Frontline. Last summer it stopped working for fleas. I am going to try both methods recommended here and garlic too.
I haven't tried it yet but my aunt said that spraying Dawn dishwashing liquid in the yard kills fleas, instead of using harsh chemicals. There is an attachment to put on a garden hose and fill it with Dawn.
We're trying all of the above this flea season!!!
