My mother passed away in 1990. I miss her so! She was a professional singer, night clubs, the radio, etc. She had her own radio program, just 15 minutes, once a week. She dedicated the show to local shutins. They would write for requests and she would talk to them over the radio like she knew them and would fill their requests for their favorite song. She always sang the "Mothers Song" near Mother's Day. I asked her to write the recitation that she used before she actually sang the song. Some of you may recognize it.......

RECITATION

You know folks, there's an old saying we cannot deny,
We never miss the water, until the well runs dry.
But I never really knew just how true that was,
Until I started to roam and left my dearest Pal at home.

Oh I can remember how she used to brag to the neighbors and
tell them how smart I was, you know
But all the time I was just a fool, I mean a fool that learned a
lesson, a lesson that is right.

So when your mother scolds you,
Please just listen, and don't fight
cause when she's gone, you'll realize that your mother is
always right.

M O T H E R
M is for the million things she gave me
O means only that she's growing old
T is for the tears she shed to save me
H is for her heart as pure as gold
E is for her eyes with love light shining
R for right and right she'll always be

Put them altogether, they spell MOTHER
A word that means the world to me.

Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful mothers out there!
