My niece just made her first quilt about "Romeo and Juliet" using this technique from photos she found on the internet. Her blocks were about 8" by 11" (or slightly smaller). This technique really works for beautiful photos. You can embellish as needed to make the photos pop using applique and other quilting techniques.
