No way that you'd be embarrassed! Pick something simple for starters. If you can sew, you can quilt! (I actually think it is easier.) Make a little table runner out of square blocks, sew them together, and turn, rather than bind, top stitch, and surprise yourself. Once you do that, you'll gain a trunk load of confidence, and move on to bigger and better things. You won't look back after that first bug bite.
