I make a square in a square quilt for my granddaughters and grand nieces. It has 88 blocks. Sometimes I end up with too many center squares and sometimes I come up with extra corner triangles. And sometimes even after counting the center squares and the corner triangles and putting them together I end up either long or short on blocks. <shrug> I think the scraps do stuff in the dark when I'm not looking.
I think the wonderful part is when I sew 2 pieces that are stuck together into a quilt block, and then find that last needed piece missing!
and search and search and SEARCH!
plus...having to rip and re-sew!
