Last night I went to our local quilting group. Every month we get an assignment to make a 9 1/2 inch block according to a given "theme" for the month. At the next meeting all the blocks are collected and someone volunteers to sew them all together in a quilt. These quilts then are given to those in need (for various reasons) in the community.

We all are given about 1/2 yard of white fabric at the beginning of the year to use for each block so that at least all the blocks have some of the same fabric in them to tie them all together at least to some degree.

The theme for this month is use your UGLIEST fabric to make a block. My "ugliest" fabric is a multi-brown and has no white in it. So I figured that I ought to make a more "contemporary" looking block that would compliment the stark contrast of the fabrics.

What do you think? I played around with this and just had fun!
Thanks for looking!

This is a D4P with a slight twist
