Great tip. This is basically how I do my quilt as you quilts but I don't stitch the batting in place but that is an excellent way to do it. People can't seem to ever comprehend what and how I am doing my quilts but this works. I assemble 2 or 3 rows and quilt them. While quilting I'm also piecing and assembling the next "panel" to add as shown in this tutorial. Instead of adding just a border, I'm adding panels and later border out with this technique. It makes quilting a queen sized quilt possible for me. Have to share this tutorial with my friends but bet they still won't fathom how I go from a 2 inch border to a full sized quilt but it works.
