I saw the retractable type once. The lady wore it as a brooch. I've seen the retractable things in the dollar store, with pens attached. So maybe you could convert one?
Be careful! The first (and probably the last) time I wore the retractable scissor broach when I let it go that sucker popped up so fast and it hit me so hard I thought "how in the world doe Martha Pullen wear these?" We were both amply endowed with lots of cushion but that sucker hurt!
