I read the paper a little late today, trying to leave for vacation tomorrow. Looked a bit while eating lunch and saw "BARGAIN Quilters Friday - Sunday 7 - 2, Fabric $1 to $2 yard." Well it was about 1:00 when I found the location, a seniors' mobile home park, on yahoo maps and decided that it wasn't too far away not to have a look. The mom who used to teach quilting passed and son wants to empty out the house. Very nice man who knew his mother would prefer that other quilters have her stash. The large pieces in the back are at least 3 yards with a few 4 - 5 yards. The smaller pieces are mostly 1/4 yards with a few 1/2 to 1 yard pieces. Then all the pre-cuts, she had bags of them sorted by color. I just grabbed a few 1 1/4" and 2" strips. As I was getting ready to go he said, "Why don't you grab a few quilting books too, no charge." Truly a quilter's heaven. I should have bought more as there were boxes still left!
