Went to a local rummage sale, it was kind of sad, husband died, and wife moving into assisted living. They were selling the "man stuff" out in the garage, and I just said, looking for quilting stuff. Took me downstairs and there low and behold was a cabinet full of stacked and sorted quilting fabrics. She said, make you a deal, $1 a yard and on the partial yards we will negotiate. We counted 163 yards and then gave her $10 for the mound of partials. $40 of it is going to the church for world relief because about 15 yards was cortoroy and the rest is blends. I suggested she keep the stuff that meant something to her. I bought a large cutting mat for $5 and my daughter got 60 cards of ribbons for $.25 each . No pictures, because I have to go organize it and cant take the time to lay it all out.
It's the same with doll collections! Antique dolls belonged to someone else before me, and will belong to another someone when I leave this world. I cherish each one partly for that... It's a beautiful thing, love!
