How did your husband become active in quilting? Love his work, the colors are so happy and full of joy, they make a person feel
good, like sunshine!
Hi Susie,

Paul actually started quilting while I was on a business trip about 6-7 years ago. I was gone for almost a week and he was very bored so he went into my scrap bag and started putting pieces together (I think this is called crumming). I came home to find that he had run out of bobbin thread and he had no idea what to do! So from there I sat down with him and helped him learn.

His first attempt was this huge piece of crumbs that we later cut into blocks and sashed together. He named it "This and that". He was pretty satisfied with it so he just kept it up, but his favorite method is strings. He said you don't have to think too much.

Here's his first quilt. Not bad for somebody who didn't even know how to thread a machine. :)
