And, WOW!!! Am I reading the thread correctly. The blocks are 8" blocks, so the center would finish 2" and the strips would each finish 1/2". It's a miracle that you completed it in one year.

whoops. I was wrong - I went back and measured the finished blocks. They finish at 7 1/2", the center red square is 7/8" (I measured several of them to be sure it wasn't supposed to be 1 inch). You are correct about the strips - they are 1/2" inch.

It WAS somewhat tedious at first. I started doing just one block at at time; that got boring. So I got a stack of 5 or 6 blocks and would go one round on each of them at a time. That way when I was done, I had several complete blocks to go up on the design wall, and that helped to spur me on even more.
