Cheater quilts have a purpose in life. You can practice on them. The print is already there, and you can decide how the quilt is "whispering" you to quilt. You aren't out much money and time if your stitches aren't perfect and you can get your feet wet without worrying about ruining your pieced quilt. The cheaters around here run about $6-8 for a 90 inch wide yard. Go for it, you will be happy you did.
