I posted before your second post. I was using 70 and 80 sewing needles. I changed to an 80 quilting needle and am doing much better. The block I have trouble is the pinwheel block. I think it has too many thick seams. Schmedtz brand.

I use the Microtex 70 for FMQ...seems to go through everything really easily...for SID or straight line I use a regular 70 or 80 depending on my thread! I prefer a 50WT thread though!
