You might want to hold out for a newer model that is a direct drive and has a reverse. If you do not need to move it you might also consider the full size 15-91 or 201.
What is "direct drive"?
It means having gears driving the mechanism instead of a belt.
I have a 1954 Singer Model 301. It is a direct drive machine, and weighs about 14 pounds only. I LOVE this little machine. Google it, and look at all the stuff it will do. It has reverse stitching, you can drop the feed dogs to do free motion quilting, and it is very easy to pick up and carry. All the Singers made in the 1950s are very reliable and wonderful for quilting.
