So sorry you have to have surgery. My best friends brother (who is 21 i believe) has had 2 knee surgeries so far. He had to keep weight off his for about 6 weeks, but he wasn't very uncomfortable after the first day or two just a bit sore. Your work should be willing to work with you and put you on light duty or find a sit down job for the duration of your recovery. I hope someone has more info for you.
