That's one of those "it depends" questions. It depends on the quality of the fabric and the dyes used to make it, how often the item is washed, which detergent you use, what type of washer you have (front or top loading), water, how you dry the item, where and how it is stored...among other things.

I'd also like to use black on a DJ, and make another with unbleached muslin... but I haven't sewn a stitch on either one yet.
